The Kiremko designed, Idaho Steel Products manufactured Dry Brush Machine is used to remove peel from potatoes and other products. Product enters through an infeed chute on one end and drops onto a series of linear brushes, which spin from the center of the machine to the outboard sides. The brush material is a durable, long-life nylon and comes in a 6 or 8 brush design with various bristle configurations. Each side of the machine is operated by independent motors. The machine also incorporates a single, direct drive auger to move the product to the discharge end at a controlled rate. The peel waste is gravity fed to a bin as the product stays on top of the brushes. The machine is equipped with spray-down nozzles, for cleaning once processing is complete.
